The Castle

The Castle opened on Guavaween in 1992 as a small saloon with a determined goal: create a great place that all of our friends would like to visit.
Adding in the idea of strong drinks, from a diverse selection of single malt scotches, small batch bourbon, aged tequila and an eclectic mix of beers from around the world didn’t hurt either. A killer jukebox supplied the music for a few years before Dj’s were added to spice up the varied genre’s that the Castle royalty required.
Since then, there have been many changes but the goals are still the same.

One can also buy a Guayabera – one of the most comfortable and timelessly stylish shirts ever made.
If its cigar accessories you’re looking for, we have a great selection to choose from. Talking about Ybor City without talking about Cuban coffee would be a sin, as just about everyone from Ybor City starts their day with a delicious cup of Cafe con Leche (Cuban espresso with steamed milk) or Cafe Solo (Cuban espresso). Rich, smooth exquisite coffee. Want to catch up on the latest news in Ybor City, Tampa and the world?

Carne Chop House

Culinary fads have come and gone and Jason Fernandez, a 25 year veteran restaurateur and owner of Carne Chophouse, loves nothing more than a great steak. He’s eaten every cut of meat, prepared in every conceivable style and he remembers every one of them.
Jason’s passion for quality ingredients traditionally prepared to allow the true flavor of the food to stand out remains steady no matter what trend comes along. This passion for unfussy excellence gave life to the idea of opening Carne Chophouse; a casual, classic steakhouse.
Carne Chophouse is located in the cultural and culinary heart of Tampa, Historic Ybor City. Carne occupies the historic El Centro Espanol Building which once served as the social and cultural hub for Spanish immigrants who worked in Ybor City’s thriving cigar making industry. The main dining area, private dining room, bars and wine cellar occupy the first floor of the building, which was originally used as the cantina. Built in 1912, the architecture is a beautiful combination of French Renaissance Revival, with heavy Spanish and Moorish influences.
