The 7-Eleven renovated the La Ultramar Jewelry building at the corner of 7th Avenue and 16th St in Ybor City. To preserve the historical significance of the district, the company choose to renovate the 100-year-old existing building then to knock it down and rebuild a new one. The neon sign that hangs above the entrance of the 7-Eleven had to get special permission from the Barrio Latino Commission.

This year’s 2017 Ybor City Heritage & Cigar Festival, Our Culture. Our Heritage. Our History.™ will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., this will be a one-day festival hosted by Cigar City Magazine, bringing together the culture, heritage and history of the cigar industry that built Tampa. The festival will focus on cigars from around the world, food, beer, wine, V.I.P. spirits area and entertainment as well as arts & crafts dedicated to the culture in the heart of Ybor City’s Centennial Park.
Last year’s festival drew in close to 10,000 visitors. The Ybor City Heritage & Cigar Festival is an event that will bring cigar aficionados, Ybor supporters, local families, history enthusiasts, and out-of town visitors!
Longtime broadcast personality, Jack Harris of WFLA 970 will once again emcee the event that will bring together a broad base of attendees to enjoy the best that Ybor has to offer. Harris will be promoting the event on his show as well, giving a face to a long-running community tradition. Other special guests will include: Carlito, Cynthia & Liana Fuente from the Arturo Fuente Cigar Company and Bobby & Eric Newman from the J.C. Newman Cigar Company.
Cigar Heritage Festival, Inc. is a nonprofit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida. The purpose of this organization is to promote and create events that seek to support the general social, economic and cultural well-being of Ybor City and the City of Tampa.
